Southampton International Airport serves residents of and visitors to Hampshire, England. The airport will be celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2010 making it one of the earliest air fields in the region. After being purchased by the BAA in 1990, major redevelopment efforts improved the terminal, external facilities and airstrip. Southampton International, airport code SOU, is located in the Borough of Eastleigh. Motorists may reach the site from the M27 motorway at Junction 5. The convenient location of the Southampton Airport Parkway rail station, adjacent to the terminal, brings train passengers from London on a 66 minute trip and service is provided for many destinations throughout Britain.

Several food and beverage choices from casual to full restaurant and bar venues are available both before and after the security checkpoint. The WH Smith shops provide travel necessities, books and magazines at the Arrivals and Departures halls and a duty free shop is available after security.
